Is this what you will call Human Rights abuse?

As China is going into Zero Tolerance to COVID, I believe it is understandable with the current cold weather and domestic transmissions. So when there’s any one case in any district the authorities will be working round the clock - searching from “monitoring and tracking” records, conducting nucleic acid tests on the whole apartment vicinity and even barricade the place. No one is allowed to go out of that particular area for whatsoever reasons for the entire 14 days quarantine period. It is mandatory and it is the law. This law and protocol applies to all living there foreign or domestic no excuses on the tests which during that “Lockdown” which is conducted everyday. Now I just cannot understand why it Is so difficult to stand together and cooperate to fight against the virus. Instead would go out in arms to fight against wearing of mask, social distancing (companies holding meetings and conducting traveling to have it), registering or tracked to public areas like restaurants, amusement parks or parks even and other restrictive measures. What privacy? What’s the paranoia about when it is for safety and stop the risk of infection? Is privacy here so important? What freedom are we talking about here? What does the health ministry or doctors say? Are they bad and false? Is this strict restriction an abuse of Human Rights here? Hey! Don’t forget that when there’s no human there will be no Human Rights or Human Rights anymore.

We need to strictly follow the wear the mask guidelines and again shut down non essential businesses and government for a month. Get those numbers down and keep them down and where a mask until this goes away

In your country, the Chinese cannot do anything with imposed restrictions. It should or rather must be done.

Here’s the point what’s there to profit the country if you die protesting? Are these restrictions not good? If you die (touch wood) it is bad for the economy too, the company looses a good staff or maybe even worse a good manager or CEO and the list goes on. What I see is we are like the westerners would call us brainwashed and dictated but I just beg to differ. I’d rather cooperate and stay alive to be with my loved ones. Live that others may live as well.

@artemeis I do not want to say more about this. All I want is that this pandemic will end the soonest as much as possible.

If we go out and follow the sanitary protocols closely then we will be fine. Covid will be here for a long time. So how many lockdowns are we going to impose

Question is when there is no incident of infections - is there a need to lockdown?

@Nawsheen These lockdowns are temporary. It is not some kind of prison sentence.

@artemeis The infection rates have been on the rise here and there are restrictions but no lockdown. We should let people live their lives. Else we'll go crazy

Humans in general don't like being told what to do. That being said, the approach the govornments have taken do more harm then they do good. Isolating those who are activly sick is one thing, but to isolate everyone, that casues it's own host of health problems. Wearing masks can be dangerous, or down right deadly for some. This needs to be taken into consideration when asking a person to wear one. The masks that you can get or make yourself offer little-to-no protection against germs, and aren't designed to filter them out. And, sorry, but germs don't pick and chose what cells they want to hitch a ride on. Same goes for social distancing. If you're outdoors, it's more effective, because germs can travel and spread more and have more directions to go. Trying to do so in an enclosed space, makes no difference because if it's true, this is airborn, you run the same risk of contracting the virus, if you're two inches apart, or six feet. All you'd have to do is walk and breathe in an infected area. So, before you ask someone to do something, be sure you understand what you're telling them to do.

Point taken and so much being said over here. It is true to a certain or all certainty, right to the dot even if I may add. But we have the statistics for all the world to see, what are the numbers you see there? Did you know we have had an extensive period of zero domestic transmission of the COVID virus? I believe everything has its facts and truth but I am sorry if you like to put in mitigating facts of not doing what is done or even cooperating then let's wait and see. For now, I would beg to differ and that everyone should somehow see the importance of being cohesive than anything else. Sometimes logic doesn't equate and I believe this is one you will have to figure out which is more important.

Your country is doing what they think is right. I am not going to say anything bad about that.

Sometimes I wonder if the world with all the humanitarian groups at the other end ever wondered for a single moment about China's population ratio to the government of not even 20 percent of the overall population - that if the government is not doing anything or one bit wrong - wouldn't there be another civil war? If war does break out I am wondering if USA or any other PEACEFUL countries would open its doors for us to seek refuge? Looking at the situations in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan - I don't think so. Yes it does seems like it is being coerced or forced even but flip that coin and have another perception that everyone is accepting and cooperating. Why? The numbers are there to tell, please do the maths.
