Day 157
Psalm 13:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? Forever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
When life turns against you, you have many questions. You wonder if God forgot you. You wonder if your enemies will have the final victory in your death.
David wondered these things many times when his enemies came against him both in battle and in life. Yet, for all his questions, David continued to trust God.
As Christians, no matter how much Satan oppresses you, God will never leave you. He fights for you and brings victory in your life. Sometimes, you need to wait a little longer for the victory.
Let’s pray: Father, give me patience as I wait for You to destroy my enemies. Let me know You are always fighting my battles. I’m not in this life alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
