One thing I will say about the Virginia State Police officers. They have to have hearts of compassion as well as patience dealing with a suspect who flees from them to avoid being punished for committing a crime. On Friday afternoon, a 16 year old male teen and his assistant who was a passenger in an auto that the 16 year old was driving which was stolen fled from the state troopers as they were traveling on Interstate 95 south when the state trooper pulled them over to take them into custody. When the stolen auto refused to stop and accept the consequences of their actions, the teens led the state police on a chase toward the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Prince Georges County. When the police cars were able to stop the stolen auto from moving due to a flat tire device used by the police to slow it down, the 16 year old male teen surrendered to the police peacefully while his partner ran away from the police toward the Woodrow Wilson Bridge where the 17 year old teen attempted to jump off of the bridge. The state trooper was able to save the 17 teen year old from jumping off of the bridge by grabbing his sweatshirt and holding him until another officer came to assist his partner. The 17 year old teen who came close of jumping off of the bridge by climbing over the railing was brought back into firm ground and taken into custody along with his partner. I will give my respects to the state troopers maintaining their cool under pressure since when a suspect disobeys an order to stop by a police officer, disobeying an order is looking for trouble. Both teens are going to be in deep trouble spending time in juvenile hall. Advice that many police officers give to law abiding persons is to obey an order quickly in order to avoid additional charges for disobeying a command since it is not worth losing your life over.

They did a good job and didn’t fire a shot at the boys. Yea, for the State Troopers.

I agree with you since when police officers chase criminals, they have to be cool under pressure not to harm their enemy unless it is self defense.

I agree with you since the teen wanted to end his own life than spend time in juvenile detention. The police did a good job saving his life.

You are right since it is not the fall that kills the jumper. It is the impact from the landing on the water or floor.

I'm glad they saved his life. Yes, they will spend time in juvie for their actions unless they are charged as adults due to their age.

You are right even though it depends on their track record if a judge will try them as adults.

I agree with you since police officers have to show a lot of restraint dealing with criminals who try to flee from them.

I am sure that their superiors will thank them for saving the life of the teen who wanted to end his own life instead of going to juvenile detention.
