Learning chess

I'm trying desperately to learn to play chess, but it's just not going well, I learned the movement of every piece, watched a bunch of yutub videos about strategies and stuff, but I keep losing. Self learning is cool but sometimes I wish someone was there to tell me what I'm doing wrong. What is something you learned on your own and you're happy you did even tho it was hard ?

Well, if you are playing against the computer it is probably almost impossible to win. You could order a book on chess strategy if you are serious about it, or join a club.

Yeah I play against the computer, but there are levels, 9 levels from easy to difficult, I can't pass the 3d one ^^' maybe I should play against real beginners like myself. Thank you for the advice.

I love to play chess. I learned it when I was 10 years old. What improved my games was the app called Chessmaster. I wonder if it were available in Amazon.

@Babino constant practice makes perfect. And learn from your mistakes. I have an ELO rating of 1900 + based on Lichess standards.

Just about everything. I didn't have instruction on a lot of things, or I had to adapt it to fit my needs. I'm thankful for that.

That awesome, you can count on yourself to learn and do anything.

One thing you are doing wrong is playing with a player that is stronger than you. Chess is not a game of chance, you play a player with more experience, more knowledgeable in theories etc..etc...chances are you will lose. Playing a better player is not bad, in fact you will learn from him while he would not get anything from you. If you are only after wins play with players your level or lower. I self taught myself to use a computer but asking those more knowledgeable than me from time to time if I can't understand something

I guess you're right, I should play with real beginners Instead of the computer. Unfortunately sometimes I can't find anybody to ask as I'm always trying to learn something nobody's interested in in my environment ^^'

is a website where you can go to and take some lessons.I think some of the lessons are, but I am not sure how many. You can also play against people from around the world on there too.
