Even though I am a casual fan of college and professional football leagues that are televised on weekends as well as Monday and Thursday evenings, there is a charity event of pickup football that is played on Thanksgiving mornings in Medina County Ohio that brings out the fans of the sport.
The Meadows Turkey Bowl has been played on every Thanksgiving morning since 1990, The game became a fundraiser in 2005 with football players who are regular hardworking persons who are dedicated to raise funds for the St. Vincent Paul Society and caner charities.
Thanks to the word of mouth via social media, the football game with 40 football players on six team playing a football game this year that raised over $500,000 dollars.
The total money raised by the charity through all of the years that the charity event has been played is $3,182,800 dollars.
The charity game was played at 1st Day School Supplies which is a company owned by Mike Meadows who is the organizer of the annual charity football game.
It is maybe that I prefer to see an average person play American football instead of millionaire football players on television.

I know what you mean. It's kind of like shopping at Mom and Pop shops instead of Big Box stores. I'd rather cheer "the little guys" on as well.

I prefer a person who is one of us over a person with a huge ego.
