I have not experienced it but I'm always wary to share my real name and birthday with online sites (even if it's a legitimate site) because I believe someone may use that information to steal my identity. However, I have read of some people experiencing it. Have you ever experienced identity theft online? What are the precautions you did to avoid it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

if it's legitimate site, most likey it's ok to fill real identity informations per requirement.but i am cautious to expose identify uaually, once i sign up for online training school, afterwards,i often receive kinds of phone call trying to promote online training class,I believed the online school leak my informations out.since then,i become cautious when others require me fill into real identity informations.even i heard someone specialized selling other's identity infromations.,gain by selling identity infromations.

@Jenaisle ,anyway, don't easily expose out real informations.there must be someone nasty at the some corner of world,so we should keep alert to others rather than credulous.

Actually 100% nothing. Anyone’s information is actually freely available online and can be bought by anyone at any time.
