Resource-Limits: Something I Shouldn't Worry about, but it Seems we Don't Think-About Enough

The resource I'm thinking of: the source of our electricity. I'm not even sure 'what electricity IS' except the elementary "it's what lets us turn our lights on" https://justenergy.com/learning-center/electricity/ My basic question: "Will we ever run out of primary source-material?" Because we're using electricity like it comes from an infinite source!

Well in Alberta, most of our electricity is produced by burning coal. So, we can run out of coal.

Do you know 'how much coal Alberta has'? (or 'how much it regularly mines' etc.)

@mythociate I don't know. Lots compared to some areas. But can't last forever.

Isn't it better to err on the side of caution & live like your community is almost OUT OF RESOURCES (conserving your electric light, limiting electrical use) than living like there's almost too much & leaving all your electrical appliances on?

@mythociate Well if you do that, obviously you are going to have a larger bill so I wouldn't do that in the first place..
