There is something pleasurable in watching dramas unfold from the character's point of view. It's like listening to someone in a confessional box and you are allowed to listen to his innermost thoughts such as why he did this and why he did that. Noticed also that that first person narrative has become a good technic to tell a story in a movie. Like Peter Parker telling the world he is Spiderman. Of late, there are movies that are lame because the characters, and plot as well, seemed to have been produced for the sake of producing a film. The attempt for the audience to perceive the thoughts and relate with the characters fail. The Power of the Dog was ominous from the very beginning, suggestive of a tragic end. Though the movie scenes were good, foreshadowing something sinister this way comes, the purpose of killing was not established very well. Or I was not really focused on the movie, for the entire scenario, though Western, was devoid of life. Another movie, 7500, is supposed to be a thriller drama but confining the entire movie in an aircraft's cockpit didn't make me sit tight at the edge of my seat. Sorry. The constant pounding of the glass on the door, after some time, becomes irritating. Plus, the antagonist, a psychologically deranged teen, wasn't believable. Stillwater, a movie retelling of a true crime story, was rather prolonged. Scenes where the protagonist seemed to forever walk are a waste of time. The movie is torn between relating the crime story or building a character trying to solve the crime. Lastly, there's Red Notice, a high action drama. Honestly, even if the actors have names to brag, the movie flops right away because the audience is being led to believe something not worthy of knowing. Eeek! Had to cease watching because the movie is boring from the beginning. Sorry folks. Save your time for better viewing.

I always read reviews on imdb or rotten tomatoes before deciding whether to watch a movie or not.

That is what my daughter does. Checks on ratings and reviews. She suggested the movies, probably because I like the actors, and as always, i fell into the trap of enduring films not entertaining at all. Albeit my fault because I told her once that I don't care for reviews and judge a movie entirely on my own.

That's not me. I do not rely on what many watch, if a plot is interesting, I watch the movie.
