Annie is my favorite musical. I've seen all three movies, I have multiple soundtracks and I attended the National Tour back in 2006/2007 (I can't remember which year at the moment).
A few years ago, Peter Pan Live and Grease Live premiered, which was basically the play done on stage, but airing on television. I've been hoping they would do one for Annie. I found out last week that I was getting my wish, and I immediately made plans to tune in. :) I'm enjoying it so far, even though it's distracting me from my work lol. But it's fine, I can stay up a little bit later to get things done.
For those who are unfamiliar with Annie the musical:
"An orphan in a facility run by the mean Miss Hannigan, Annie believes that her parents left her there by mistake. When a rich man named Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks decides to let an orphan live at his home to promote his image, Annie is selected. While Annie gets accustomed to living in Warbucks' mansion, she still longs to meet her parents. So Warbucks announces a search for them and a reward, which brings out many frauds."
That's from Google. I just typed "Annie musical quick plot" to get those results.
Anyway, I wasn't planning to post today, but I decided to do so at the last minute lol. I'm gonna get back to my show and my work. Stay safe and take care, everyone. :)

I already know the ending, if they're going by the original version (the play, not the movies). Warbucks and President Roosevelt figure out the truth (that the Mudges aren't Annie's real parents), and they're caught before they can even take Annie. Also, I think Miss Hannigan visits with the Orphans. I know she's somehow there. But I'm not entirely sure if they're gonna do it the same way and there's still 20min. left, so I'll keep you in the loop. But if they do that ending, that's how they ended it in the 1999 movie, which was very close to the play.
In the 1982 movie, they did get away with her, but Annie tore up the check and Rooster tried to kill her, and Miss Hannigan tried to stop him from killing her. She was rescued. It was similar in the 2014 version, where they left with her and she was rescued, but nobody tried to kill her.
Daddy Warbucks adopted her in all versions, but he loved her as if he were her real father.

Okay, the update, which is close to the original play and sort of close Disney's 1999 version --- Warbucks and President Roosevelt do some overnight research (with the FBI) to find that Annie's real parents passed away. So they knew before the Mudges arrived to pick her up. They also figured out it was Miss Hannigan who was behind it because she was the only other person who knew about the parents' locket and letter.
Miss Hannigan showed up with the Orphans, who were visiting. So she pretty much set herself up for that one lol. But in a twist (I'm updating this as I go), she and the Orphans showed up to save Annie (oh snap, taken from the 1982 version). So her brother and his gf were arrested, Miss Hannigan was given a new job (because, frankly, she shouldn't be around children, but Annie didn't want her arrested because of her trying to help). I missed the part with the Orphans' future, but I think Warbucks and President Roosevelt were going to find homes for all of them.
Of course, Annie was still adopted by Warbucks, and they found Sandy (her dog).
Sorry for the novel, this is my favorite musical lol.
