I got it back.

Today wasn't a bad day at work, and afterward I walked to the bus stop to catch the bus to the Transit office where the Lorst and Found is.
The bus driver told me which gate to go through, and a lady passenger on the bus pulled the "stop" cord for me when we got close (I didn't ask her to, but I was glad she did, as I wasn't sure what point I should pull it at). Once I got through the gate and started walking around, I had forgotten where exactly the lost and found was. Another bus driver was just parking her bus for the night, and when I asked her which direction to go, she said she'd take me if I didn't mind waiting for her to do her paperwork. That and her putting the stops under the buses front wheels took five minutes, tops.
She took me to the office where the Lost and Found was, and I got my journal back.

If they did, it probably would have been a boring read.

Glad to know that he helped you. It was a nice gesture and also that you found your journal
