Did you know there is alot of symbolism with regards to Christmas?
a lot of people partake of the holiday and don't even think about what they are doing.
Christmas is full of symbolism and most don't even know what these symbols are and what they mean or what they are in remembrance of.
I felt that it was my privilege to share some of these with you in this post.
Some are obvious and others not so.
1 Candy canes (Red and white ones specifically )
Candy canes symbolise the sheepheards that were in the field and the color of the canes symbolise the blood of Christ that he shed and white sybolises the purity of Christ
2 Santa clause
His Red outfit is symbolic of the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross
His white beard is symbolic of the wisdom that christ had
His white trim symbolises his purity
And his black boots and the coal reminds us of the pits of hell if we fail to be worthy of his love,
3 Gifts
The gifts that we give each other and the stockings that Santa fills with gifts symbolises the gifts the wise men brought to the christ child
4 the bells that we hang on the christmas tree
The bells are symbolic of the religious nature of the holiday and the bells that hung around the neck of cattle that were owned by the innkeeper where christ was laid in the manger.
5 Christmas trees
Christmas trees are a symbol of everlasting life and love as they provide both beauty and because the choice of tree is almost always an evergreen it symbolises everlasting life that was promised to us through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
6,
Holiday caroling
Another unnoticed symbol we don't think of but it symbolises the heralding angels that came when Jesus arrived into the world
those are but a few that I can think of at the time of this post if you think of any others please feel free to share in the comments below
Merry Christmas , Happy Holidays

wow, you have provided all the meanings to the Christmas decors, socks are also part of Christmas. I'm wondering why socks are used and not boxes or bags.
Is there story to this?
Thanks for the information, I can now explain to my kids the meanings of these things.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.

stockings go way back there are theories to this
the first is my favorite
stockings when hung look like the letter J which is thr first letter of our saviour Jesus name.
A second theory is that people back then would carry precious things in a money sock
a third theory is that it symbolises the donkey that carried Mary to Bethlehem as stockings carry gifts till Christmas morning.
