Josh Duggar GUILTY in Child Porn Trial!

My question is WHY isn't this splashed all over the news? Here we have this former reality TV "star", already a father of SEVEN at the age of 33, previously accused of molesting his own sisters as well as the babysitter and there's been barely a peep about this current scandal. He's staring down up to 40 years in prison after an Arkansas jury on Thursday found him guilty of receiving and possessing child porn. Some of you may recall and you may even have been fans of the reality show "19 Kids and Counting" about an Arkansas family with, as the title implies, 19 kids. This was an unconventional family to say the least. As the kids grew up they weren't allowed to date without either their father or an older sibling chaperoning. They weren't allowed to hold hands with a date, they could only "side hug" and kissing was prohibited until their wedding day. Swimming at public polls wasn't allowed and if they did go swimming somewhere private the girls had to wear "modest" swim dresses. Their day to day wardrobes consisted of long dresses and skirts that looked like they belonged on "Little House on the Prairie". The girls were brought up to believe their only purpose in life was to be baby machines and the boys were groomed to be sperm donors, if you will. They're all pretty much lived up to their callings, notably Josh who, as stated previously, already has 7 children with his wife Anna, who for some totally unknown reason stood by him through all the creepy scandals. Maybe it's not Josh's fault that he grew up to be a pervert. Maybe it was natural curiosity that caused him to fondle his little sisters and the babysitter when he was around 14 since anything remotely "sexual" about girls or women, other than seeing his mother constantly pregnant, was forbidden fruit. Maybe if he had been dealt with properly when that all came out all those years ago and if he'd gotten the help he obviously desperately needed he wouldn't now be headed to prison for the rest of his life leaving his wife and children alone. Maybe if the Duggars had been allowed to be normal kids none of this would have happened. Any thoughts on this? And again, WHY isn't this splashed all over the media?

I'm thinking that because it's not Covid-related, or anything related to the mass ajenda the media has, it's flying under the radar. Though, I must say, I'm not surprised in the slightest. Anything remotely healthy was kept under the radar, and the children are homeschooled. How a couple of the daughters got to be obgyns and such remains a mystery to me.

Aren't they midwives? I don't think their repressed lifestyle was really all that healthy. I'm not saying they should have been allowed to run wild, like unfortunately some kids are these days, but they would have been better served to have had normal childhoods.

@anniepa Agreed. And, that's kind of the same thing. Only midwives specialize in home births, but it's still obstetcris. I could never understand their values and religiouss beliefs. I think the biggest mistake they could've made, was pulling their kids out of public school and homeschooling them.

I've seen quite a bit about it online. The Duggars definitely have been sexually repressed; but Josh definitely needs some help.

He supposedly was getting help a few years back but apparently it didn't work. Online is the only place I've seen anything about this case.

Its splashed all over Reddit, I saw like every third post was like happy and crap. The world is not right just have to find good places now. Apparently, people just not right in the head these days, they never were but am I the only one who thinks that this is the worse its ever been. I mean I guess you can say Nazi Germany but they did not have social media then like we do now and get the feeling that would be popular on many of these social media platforms.

I've never been on Reddit. I was mostly referring to the TV news, in particular the cable news networks.

It's not splashed all over the news because it's not news. Everyone already knew. You don't have to be convitcted in a court of law to be guilty.
