Facebook anxiety

I'm brave now to face my anxiety in Facebook. I don't use Facebook before because I feel jealous of other people on how great their life as they post it. I also feel that my account is not as impressive as theirs. But now it's all gone. I now enjoy Facebook. I try to be honest there and I get rid of feeling jealous. I enjoy interacting and connecting to old friends in messenger. My Facebook is active now

Most people lie on fb about their real lives. I dont use it much. Mostly for the buy and sell groups

@averygirl72 I still go on occasionally to see what my friends are doing and to see pictures they share, especially little kids I don’t see often.

It does seem on FB everyone is leading a better life than I am, but people can shade their life anyway they want. They only let you see what they want you to see anyway.

@averygirl72 And how would you know who is a braggart if you have no direct information about the people writing on Facebook? Why is Facebook so important at all in your life? Isn't it more satisfying to deal with real life people?

I completely get it. I struggle with comparing myself with other people on social media. They appear to live perfect lives. I wouldn’t call it a lie though most of the time. People generally don’t feel comfortable sharing the negative stuff in their lives because of stigma or the fear of being judged, so they usually only post the happy moments that they want to share and remember. Also, people who post Mary Poppins-esque content all the time may just be insecure with their lives as much as we are. I feel like it’s a breath of fresh air when people share their reality with us, but also, nobody owes us transparency either. People are allowed to share whatever makes them feel comfortable at the current moment.

@averygirl72 Also, I just thought of this, but a lot of people have family members and relatives on Facebook that they may not feel comfortable sharing certain things online that these people can see. For example, I made a post about struggling with depression and felt like I had to block certain people from seeing the post. Then I quickly deleted it because I didn’t want my family somehow finding out and being angry with me. So I’m saying it’s probably hard to post certain things on social media. Maybe they have relatives that are kinda toxic but they keep them on social media for “family’s sake.” Also, there’s a fear of people considering you posting negative stuff in your life as “attention-seeking,” so really no matter what you post, someone is going to judge you one way or the other. I’m glad you’re reaching out to friends and becoming more comfortable with being yourself online. Comparison is the thief of joy. I didn’t make that up. Some famous guy said that.

@averygirl72 Yeah, I am like that but I just like to read their stories that is what they want to because if they do not want to be stalked why do they have to post their lives online. But that is just what I do watch how they are in their lives but other than that I do not share or comment on their profile unless it is very important to comment on their posts.

I am not much active on Facebook. Never enjoyed it as it seems more of exaggeration and bragging there. I still have an account there and I use it for some useful things like promoting a social message or raising funds for some noble cause. I stay away from personal sharing there.

I also use it to inspire people and post Godly messages. I'm never there to brag but I won't like to be left behind so I post cool things in my life too

Glad to know about it. Everyone's life is different. Many times all happy pictures aren't real. We should try not to compare our lives with others as we all are different. Good that you interacting with friends on Facebook
