Brad Harbert and his family who live in Ankeny Iowa is grateful that his mixed breed female dog named Roxy managed to alert Brad, his father and his son that there was a carbon monoxide leak inside of their home during the overnight hours on Monday.
Roxy who is a mild mannered dog started to jump on the bed of her owner in her attempt to warn him that there was a leak of carbon monoxide inside of their home which could have been fatal to all parties involved if Brad and his father and his son not left the home when they did.
Brad admits that he heard an alarm going off inside of the house which was the carbon monoxide alarm that was making noises that he and his relatives were in danger of passing away from the fumes.
The Ankeny Fire Department came to the Harbert home after Brad called 911 to report the incident.
Officials with the fire department and the energy company confirmed that the source of the leak came from the gas and electric fireplace.

I believe that Roxy was trained to smell carbon monoxide even though I think the noise inside the home did alert her of danger.
