Heyyy. I’m starting to wind down, but I figured I’d talk about my Christmas weekend now… before I’m too lazy to make the post at all lol. So, I didn’t feel as lonely when I woke up on Christmas morning. My Mom and I slept on the first floor (I still do, and for those who are just finding my posts, my Momma passed away over the summer), so I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel because she was always the first person I saw on Christmas morning. But, I heard someone in the kitchen, plus my dogs were sleeping with me, so that all helped a lot. Eventually, my sister and brother-in-law got the kiddos up and I forced myself out of bed lol. I mean, I was up before they came down, but I was still trying to wake myself up, if that makes sense lol. (Basically, I was awake but not quite alert.) We did presents and all that jazz, and I just relaxed and played on my phone for a bit. My best friend and her son were due to arrive at 1pm, and my younger sister and brother-in-law were supposed to get here between 4pm and 5pm. Welp, my best friend was late, so I decided to grab a quick snooze. She got to my house about 10 minutes later, but isn’t that how it always works lol? We exchanged presents and hung out for a bit, and then my sister and brother-in-law showed up, and we did presents and ate dinner. Later, we played some trivia games. Well, we didn’t officially play, but my younger sister read the questions and we all just answered them lol. After everyone went home, everyone here started winding down. I finished Home Alone 2 on TV while putting my stuff away, and then I eventually hit the hay. I didn’t do anything on the day after Christmas. And you know what? That was fine by me. I was just so tired for some reason. Maybe it was all the late nights finally catching up with me. I don’t know, I just know that I spent a good chunk of the day sleeping on the couch. I think I needed it though. Eventually, I filled out my planners/journals, watched Child’s Play 2 with my 20yr old niece (I’m talking about the horror movie with Chucky the doll) and eventually put on The Golden Girls and went to bed. And that was my Christmas weekend. It went well considering it was the first without Mom and the first without both of my parents, but it helped to have my loved ones around me. Whether you celebrate or not, I hope you all had a great weekend. Photo Credit: I snapped this photo using the Snapchat filter on Christmas 2021.
