In Hazaribagh there are huge lands covered with forests and sanctuaries. There are different types of trees including mahua, teak, sal, mahogany to name a few. There are a lot of animals also residing there. The huge canopy is created by the tall trees. Very significantly the sun sets early by 5 pm in winter months of December and January.

It's a beautiful place. You are right that days get shorter in winters. My husband's aunt stays in Hazaribagh and I have visited her a few times when we go to Ranchi( my husband's native). But I have not explored the place much. I should do it next time.

Thanks Arunimaji happy new year. I gave a lecture in Ranchi Law College. I found the Rajarappa Chinnomasta temple in Hazaribagh very famous. Oscar winning director Satyajit Ray wrote the famous detective story Chinnomastar Abhishap with the backdrop of Rajarappa Chinnomasta temple in Hazaribagh.

So that detective story would have Feluda in that?
One of my kids had a Feluda story in English textbook and it was very interesting.
Even Byomkesh Bakshi character is partially influenced by Feluda I suppose!

So in a way this area is a tropical deciduous forest area like we have near Aravalis but may be with more rains.
What are some of the Sanctuaries that are in this area?

The bear could have a specific time for coming to different areas in the sanctuary.
So may be it is not easy to sight them.
Yet it is good to visit wildlife sanctuaries.
