A New York state police officer rescue story of a young Black Lab in a frozen lake

Even though the rescue of a young Black Lab dog happened last month in Lewiston New York when a young Black Lab named Kona managed to escape from her owner to chase some geese that landed in a lake that was partially frozen, it was thanks to the effort of Lewiston police officer named John Smith along with two other police officers answered an emergency call from the owner of Kona. Officer Smith then went into the partially frozen lake while he was wearing no special rescue clothing other than a warm jacket, the police officer risked his life to grab Kona who was from the shore and get her away from dying by drowning in the partially frozen lake to the shore to reunite with her owner. The owner of Kona did send an email letter to Lewiston Police Chief Frank Previte to thank him for the service that Officer Smith did to save her dog. The owner of Kona did promise to visit the police station in person to thank the police officer for his kind act.
