Hope you all are doing good and enjoying Sunday with your family. I am doing good too.
Pravasi Bhartiya Divas or NRI Day is celebrated on 9th January, every year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community in the development of India.
The aim of celebrating the day is to provide a platform for NRI to express their perceptions about India and thereby involve them in Indian developmental activities.
The Pravasi Bhartiya Divas or NRI Day started to get celebrated as Mahatma Gandhi had returned from South Africa on the day in 1915.

There is something new that I learnt from this post. I was not aware that Gandhi returned to India on this day. I knew that the day is celebrated on this date but didn't know this particular reason. Thank you for sharing.
