Duane Hickman, the star of the sitcom “ The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis” has died at the age of 87 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was in his 20s when the series started, but his character started as a teenager. Later he became a director.

He was a fun actor. I have been watching the full series of Mary Tyler Moore show since Betty White passed. Haven't seen her on there yet though...hhmm. They said she played in it. I'm on season 3 though.
I used to watch Gilligans Island with him in it all the time. Very cute.

Bob Denver was the one on Gilligans Island. He played Dobie’s best friend.

@bunnybon7 Bob Denver played Gilligan. He also played Maynard B. Krebs on Dobie Gillis. That was the beatnik character.

Sorry to learn about the passing of Duane Hickman. "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis" is a show before my time. However it is a good show to watch on television.
