In Bardhaman chilli plants are planted in between papaya plantations

Bardhaman district is fertile for many crops. In many farmlands and private lands papaya plantations are fringed with other crops. Chilli plants are planted in between the papaya plants. Basically the soil is well connected by the roots of the plants and they produce good quality vegetables.

That technique is called INTERCROPPING. and that is not new. many farmers use that technique around the world. the purpose is to save space and increase profit.

The chillis and papaya plants seem to be easy to grow well. They are common vegetables here.
