There will be the annual Martin Luther King Jr. event in Placerville on Monday January 17th. Today I heard that the city took the banner down after somebody complained at a city meeting that it was too political. Hello, MLK day is a national holiday, and do you know what the banner said? One person, one vote. Wow, that is SO political only if you want to prevent people from voting. Why does it say that? Because the King family specifically asked people to concentrate on voting rights due to Congress not passing their voting rights bill. So one person complained, and the City Manager in charge of events had it taken down. He had to order a crane to do it, so it cost money. He didn't tell the City Council or the mayor. Wow.

No, I can't. It was in a private chat between a group of activists. I do have a picture of the banner before it was taken down and what it looked like after it was taken down as well as some names...

Someone needs a 'technical adjustment upside their head.'
Or maybe that should read 'sometwos'.

That was a stupid thing to do. It was not hurting anything by the banner being up.
