What comes into your mind with the word, justice? I was reviewing for my exam on Wednesday and the first lesson was about justice. When we were discussing the topic, I answered our instructor, "justice is fairness", but then I remember this line from Mitch Albom's Five People You Meet In Heaven, “fairness, does not govern life and death. if it did, no good person would ever die." and I went into this deep thinking. As I read again the topic, I keep on remembering the reality, what is happening around me that I can connect with JUSTICE and its different context. Ahh, I think too much, how to apply justice when it comes to public service. How about you, what are your thoughts about justice?

The official meaning from the dictionary is: the process or result of using laws to fairly judge and punish crimes and criminals. That is what I think of when I hear the word.

Well lately these last years, I am sick of that word as usually it is a segment of the population saying they need it when they are actually criminals.

It is when we see what a criminal has done and punish them for the crime. That is justice.

I think about the judicial system and judges ruling on all the evidence of a case to make things right for the people being wronged.

Yes I also think justice is being fair... It is giving a person what he or she deserves. And we have laws as our standard in determining what is fair.
