Day 217 Psalm 119 Psalm 119:41 VAU. Let Your mercies come unto me, O LORD, even Your salvation, according to Your Word. 42 So will I answer him who reproaches me; for I trust in Your Word. 43 Take not the word of truth out of my mouth; for I hope in Your judgments. 44 So will I keep Your law forever and ever. 45 I will walk at liberty; for I seek Your precepts. 46 I will speak of Your testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed. 47 I will delight in Your commandments, which I love. 48 I will lift up my hands unto Your commandments, which I love; and I will meditate in Your statutes. How often do you make ‘I will’ promises? Do you follow through or are they forgotten as soon as you make them? The psalmist made several ‘I will’ promises to God. He fixed his life on one purpose—to show God to everyone he met because he delighted in God’s law. As Christians, do you delight in God so much that you tell everyone about His amazing love for them? Do you promise to give yourself wholly to God, committing your life to His Word? Promises mean nothing if you don’t follow through. When you desire to commit to God because He is your everything, your desire becomes the most important part of your life. You will follow through. Your ‘I will’ statements will become a reality because of your love for God. Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so, will you dwell in the land, and you will be fed. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He will bring it to pass. Let the psalmist’s prayer be your prayer as you commit your life to God and Jesus Christ, His Son. Let’s pray: Father, Your Word is my delight.
