I am hoping that an intruder who allegedly tried to break into a home in Silver Spring on Saturday morning a week ago will learn his lesson that crime does not pay and that some cartoon stories that are shown on television that a character is able to get into a home by going down a chimney is fiction The intruder who allegedly tried to enter a home had the bad luck of being trapped inside of a chimney when the owner of the home called the Montgomery County police around 3:30am about noises coming from the outside of the home. When the police officers examined the crime scene, they found no evidence of a break in inside of the home. However around a few hours later, the homeowner heard noises from inside the wall and he contacted the Montogomery County Police Department again. This time the police officers found a man trapped inside of the chimney. The Montogomery Fire and Rescue firefighters then came to the home and they had the task of breaking down the walls where they located the intruder trapped inside of the wall. The firefighters managed to rescue the intruder and have an ambulance take him to a local hospital to be treated for his serious injuries. What gets me to scratch my head is that it is not clear if the intruder will be charged with a crime of breaking into a home even though there is evidence that a crime was committed last weekend. The name of the suspect was not released since I believe that the case is still under investigation at this time. I feel bad for the owner of the home that the inside of his home was messed up with debris on the floor due to the firefighters having to break the walls to rescue the intruder.

It may work in cartoons but not in real life.

You just can't make this stuff up. If it's published somewhere, someone's going to try it.

It's a shame that walls had to be broken down to get an intruder out of the house!

I agree with you since the owner of the home now has to deal with a messy living room.

Of the chimneys I have seen; only small children could ever fit into most of them. I do not see how a grown man could fit into a chimney.

I know what you mean since the joke that Spider Man makes in the cartoons is "How does Santa Claus climb down chimneys without getting his suit dirty I will never know."
