Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Recently since few years, I have observed this that getting a child through Surrogacy has become a trend among Bollywood Couples. I am not against it, don't get me wrong. It's the observation I have made since few years which I would like to share here. Be it Sunny Leone, the yesteryear porn star and current item girl dancing in bollywood movies. She got three children through a surrogate. Then there is this bollywood actor named Tushar Kapoor, son of famous Bollywood Star Jitendra Kapoor who got a boy through Surrogacy. Following him, his sister, a well-known tv and movie producer named Ekta Kapoor got a child too through surrogate after few years. The couple's working in Tv too are getting children through Surrogacy. The famous Bollywood Director named Karan Johar got twins, a boy and a girl from Surrogacy. Recently joining these people are the popular Bollywood Movie Actress named Preity Zinta who got 2 kids through Surrogacy. And last but not the least our desi girl and International Icon Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got a baby girl through Surrogacy. I don't know whether these people opted for Surrogacy as they weren't able to conceive or it was a lifestyle choice. However, I have mixed feelings about it. I feel happy for the couple who are getting the child and on other hand feel bad for the birth mother who has to give up the child in exchange of money. It must be so difficult for all these surrogate mothers to give up the child they carried in them for 9 months. I feel proud of them. I feel it requires a lot of courage to do it. Share your thoughts about it. Have a good day. Take care!!!

Well one you don’t get children through it you have children through it! First off the birth giver in this case isn’t the actually mother. Surrogates are injected with the father and the mother mature eggs and implants into the surrogate. She will not have any biological related to the child. These are women either one can easily get pregnant and have easy pregnancy. Most good through the an agency and mates to the parents to be. These women are almost always paid for there time, medical bills through and after baby till they are cleared by the doctor. In some cases the surrogate might be like a sister to the mother or father because they ask if it’s okay by the parents. This ain’t like adoption which would be the birth mom is the mom to the baby and is giving her rights away as a parent. Surrogates have no rights to the baby and are in a signed contract. Many people don’t want a none biological child and some do want none biological child and some just let fate hold the cards and will love a child no matter the way they come to them.

@Rashnag I thought about it one point being a surrogate for a friend if she wanted to have a baby. But she decided she and her husband didn’t want biological children at all but might in the future decided to adopted. Her husband was adopted.

Ok dear. I think it's their own personal choice. Everyone is entitled to do whatever they think is right for them

My thoughts are the same as yours. I'm concerned about surrogate mothers, way too concerned perhaps. My mother offered to be the surrogate mother to her dearest/closest cousin because the latter was infertile and wished to have her own baby. They didn't end up doing it, but I guess this is different because it involves family members. Paying a stranger to act as a surrogate often involves exploiting poverty, and I'm not sure about the ethics of this. I think adoption would be better and it's something wealthy people can afford (whoever can afford to pay a surrogate mother, that'd be).

The main difference between adoption vs surrogacy is that adoption does not continue the bloodline. Surrogacy generally refers to a woman having a fertilized egg implanted in her womb and carrying it through childbirth. The fertilized egg normally comes from a couple who for some reason cannot have a child the 'natural' way.

Glad to know your thoughts about it. I think as far as I know the surrogate mothers accepts doing it by signing a contract wherein their identities aren't revealed. Still I agree to what you saying that adoption can be a better choice

I think this option should only be explored if you are unable to conceive. This is because I think the baby will take up some of the traits of the birth mother as well. These traits can be good or bad and the couples who chose this option may never really know.
