Day 229 Psalm 132 Psalm 132:1 A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions. 2 How he swore unto the LORD and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob. 3 Surely, I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed. 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids, 5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, a habitation for the mighty God of Jacob. 6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah; we found it in the fields of the wood. 7 We will go into His tabernacles. We will worship at His footstool. 8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; You, and the ark of Your strength. 9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Your saints shout for joy. 10 For Your servant David’s sake turn not away the face of Your anointed. Do you think about what was? Do you have fond memories of the good old days? The psalmist reminded God about David’s life and everything he suffered. Yet, in remembering his suffering, the psalmist reminded God about David’s promises to God to never give up. He would go without sleep as he looked for a place for God’s tabernacle. David wanted to worship at God’s footstool. As Christians, do you make promises to stay up until you get an answer to your prayers? Is there something you want badly enough that you will pray until you get an answer? Do you remind God about the answers He gave in certain situations? Do you ask Him to do it again? Often, when you pray, your thoughts roam, your eyelids fall, and you forget why you’re praying and what you’re praying for? When you realize where your thoughts led you, turn back to the purpose of your prayer time. Remind yourself why you pray. Remind God of His promises. The psalmist knew why David prayed and the vows he made. He knew because David prayed without ceasing. In battle, he prayed for God to lead him. He encouraged himself in the Lord. His servants and soldiers heard his prayers. The psalmist wanted God to do it again. He wanted God to hear him and keep His promises to His people. God promised David his son would sit on His throne and He would always have a member of his family on the throne, leading the children of Israel. What has God promised you? Have you reminded God of His promises to you? Do you pray until God answers your prayers? Does God hear your voice throughout the day and night? The psalmist reminded God of His promises. You can do the same. Remind God of the promises He made to you and pray without ceasing. Let God hear your voice. Let’s pray: Father, help me pray without ceasing. Let my voice be heard in Your throne room. You promised to take care of me and my family. I hold You to Your promise. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Amen, One of the most important things to me is I put in my prayers for the Lord to give me strength, health, and the stamina to stand up against all I face,
