Glutathione is starting to be popular. I always see online advertisements about these pills online and in the newspaper. Does this have any side effects? Does it really work?

Glutathione is an anti-oxidant. It targets the liver, and its whitening effect is the side-effect. Nothing else. By drinking gluta pills, once a day, it only works for the liver. But for whitening, you have to increase your dosage to a minimum of 3 times a day, depending on your skin color. I have tried it (ACTIVE WHITE BRAND) and it sure works for me!!! I have greater health now too, since it strenghthened my immunity.

I have fair brown skin and I love my skin. I just wanted to know more about this thing since it's becoming popular right now. A lot of lotions and even soaps now have glutathione on them and I wanted to know what this thing really. And I think some people prefer a whiter, fairer skin. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that, just as white people try to get a tan sometimes.

Glutathione acts as an antioxidant used to prevent oxidative stress in most cells and help to trap free radicals that can damage DNA and RNA. There is a direct correlation with the speed of aging and the reduction of glutathione concentrations in intracellular fluids. Antioxidants are the body's premier resource for protection against the diverse free radical and other oxidative stressors to which it invariably becomes exposed. Glutathione neutralizes damaging free radicals and peroxide molecules, and recharges oxidized vitamin C so that the body may reuse it. Glutathione is required for a variety of metabolic processes. As individuals grow older, glutathione levels drop, and the ability to detoxify free radicals decreases. High levels of glutathione in the blood are associated with longevity, due to the antioxidant performance of glutathione. The only side effect of glutathione is whitening. usage of glutathione can lead to whiter skin complexion. This is why glutathione is popularly known as a whitening agent.
