Day 2 on Medication for my Brother

Banks, Oregon
January 29, 2022 4:07pm CST
So far the medication seems to do great for him getting to sleep, and in the morning he is fine. But later in the day the voices start again and he is increasingly agitated. We see the doctor on the 3rd for a follow-up so I'm hoping they can either up the dose, or prescribe something else on top of the olanzapine. It's been really scary for my family as we hate seeing him like this, and it's really hard to be with him pretty much 24/7 I am hoping my dad can help more and he can go there for a few days out of the week. I know inpatient would be best but he still refuses to do that, and we can't force him here in Oregon unless he becomes a danger to himself or others. Oregon is very strict on the rules for mental health, we had to sign waivers so we were even able to know information on his care. Continue the prayers, and good thoughts I know my brother is still in there and will come back to us someday.

I hope that you continue to do what you are doing. It seems to be working, give it time. Hopefully he can stay where he is.

I hope the Doctor will give him something else to help or give a higher doze to him. That is no way for him to live or for your family to live being scared of what will happen.

I know he must be in so much mental pain, I can't even imagine the thought of uncontrollable voices that seem so real saying such awful things. I pray everyday and I hope the doctors will find more answers.

@chrissbergstrom you can join the healing program in your churches. I can suggest VCC (Victory Christian center) search it on Facebook. It's a church in Houston Texas. They have zoom prayer meetings on Wednesday you can register and get your brother on the meeting for healing prayers. Just check the time in your country so you don't miss your zoom appointment. I believe your brother will be healed.

Olanzapine does not normally work straight away. So its interesting you see a difference already.
