There is a lot of hot news on the arms front. The Philippine government in an outreach to India has paid $ 375 million for buying the Brahmos anti-ship missile for the armed forces. The Brahmos is a supersonic cruise missile with a range of 350 to 400 km. The Philippines are increasingly facing a threat from China which is claiming the entire South China Sea and this weapon will go a long way in bolstering the defence of the Philippines. As per reports the missile will be used by the Philippine navy both on shore and watercraft. This could be the beginning of a closer relationship between India and the Philippines.

I hope it’s a good move. I’m afraid I know very little about the situation.

Historically India and the Philippines already had good ties beginning with the Indianized Majapahit kingdom that florished in Southeast Asia before colonial times. The ancient Filipino writing called " baybayin" is related to Sanskrit. Perhaps India being colonized by Britain and the Philippines by Spain caused the close ties to wane since they are opposing colonial powers. Yes looking forward to restoring closer ties again with India, the Brahmos supersonic missiles would be a good deterrent to would be aggressors in order to maintain the status quo in the region.

@madan02 yep lots of Indians here, I know your surname is Sikh because I use to have classmates with the same last name. I'm glad you liked the Philippines and had been here. BTW our language has a lot of Indian words incorporated into it.

Now they claimed whole South Sea belongs to them, then they'll say whole Asian belongs to them including their "Lost land"Mongolia,Vietnam and the Asian Part of Russia. These all belong to Cathay, because they're conquered by Chinese "Ancestor"Genghis Khan Then they'll force the whole world to submit their Communist Nazi System,no one can fight against them.If you dare to speak the truth, you'll be Second Dr.Li Wen-liang.Gestapo will arrest you immediately.Your children will be brainwashed by CCP and become the slaves of Communist Party forever. You can't defeat them, they have millions of troops, countless nuke bombs and the High-tech Totalitarian System which more better than 1984. As a Chinese,i can't say too much,I agree with Deng Xiaoping's opinions.Put the argument aside and let's cooperate peacefully.Meantime,i wish India and Philippines can defend your democracy and freedom, don't let Red Nazi conquer your country.Don't let the New Hitler win this final war with the freedom countries. In a word,Don't let communist party take the power of your country, they'll turn your homeland into a hell like Cathay,Soviet,North Korea, even worse, become second Khmer Rouge. Surely,i really wish the freedom countries can stick together to quarantine Cathay-This Fourth Reich.Don't buy anything from Cathay,Don't trust Chinese,Don't speak or support the Communist Party. It's the best way that freedom countries can protect themselves from the colonization of Red Nazi
