Day 232 Psalm 140:1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil men; preserve me from violent men; 2 Which imagine mischief in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. 3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah. 4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from violent men who have purposed to overthrow my goings. 5 The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. 6 I said unto the LORD, You are my God; hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. 7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. 8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. 9 As for the head of those who compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. 10 Let burning coals fall upon them; cast them into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 11 Establish not an evil speaker on the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. 12 I know the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. 13 Surely the righteous will give thanks unto Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence. Do you feel as though everyone is against you? You don’t know who to trust, or what to do. Where do you turn for help? David often prayed when his enemies came against him. He asked God to take His vengeance on them and overthrow their plans. David knew God was the only one who could help him against his enemies. As Christians, Satan is your enemy. He comes against you when you least expect to destroy your plans and shred your confidence. When Satan comes against you, you have only one person you can turn to—God. Don’t come against Satan in your strength. Come against him in God’s strength. 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. When you put your life in God’s hands, He will avenge your enemy. Satan stands powerless when you fall on your knees in prayer, asking God to help you. What do you need help with today? Turn to God, the only person who can help you. Let’s pray: Father, I am weak, but You are strong. Give me Your strength when Satan comes against me. Help me rely on You when life becomes impossible, knowing You are the God of the impossible.
