Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. I came across this news which is alarming and urges people to be careful.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of World Health Organization said in a statement that "The Omicron Variant is probably present in most of world's countries and it would be a mistake to dismiss the CoVid 19 strain as mild".
He told the reporters from WHO headquarters in Geneva that the variant was now present in 77 countries.
He has said that the omicron variant is spreading fast than the last delta variant. People or countries shouldn't dismiss that Covid 19 is over.
He has said alone vaccination won't help. If more people are hospitalised then again it will create burden on the whole medical fraternity in hospitals.
He is urging countries and people to not think Covid is over. People should still wear masks, maintain social distancing. Countries should target to get more and more people vaccinated till end of 2022.
Booster shots should be made available to more people and people who are more vulnerable should be treated in hospital on a priority basis.
Some countries are dismissing the rules and protocols to be followed for Covid 19. Thus, he has urged all the countries and it's people not to do it. He has also said that other variants might emerge in the future.
I personally feel we should follow what he is saying and do not take this virus lightly. I am seeing in my surroundings that some people are not wearing masks, for them it's like Covid is gone but that isn't the case.
After we got Covid despite taking all precautions all the time. We have become more cautious. I wear N95 mask and also wear gloves in my hands while going out to buy something. I wash the gloves regularly too. We avoid going in crowded places and maintain social distancing.
I can urge here, please stay safe. Follow all rules and protocols. The virus hasn't left us yet please remember that.
Share your thoughts about it. Have a good day. Take care!!!

WHO cannot be trusted. They lied to the world when Covid was released in CCP.
After being on the ground in Wuhan in November of 2019, they saw first hand what was going on and yet in mid January of 2020, stated that P2P transmission hadn't happened and the worldwide threat was low.
I don't believe a word they say now.

@yoalldudes It's because people are taking it lightly. Many are not wearing masks. People who aren't vaccinated are suffering a lot from the disease even dieing

@Rashnag Oh ok. Why is he asking to be careful about the virus when it is mild?

Noted. Thank you for this significant information.
I still keep social distancing and my mask on, whenever I'm allowed to go outside.
For most of the time, I stay home to avoid exposure. The virus has also spiked in our area, so our heatlh authorities are on the lookout to control its spread efficiently.
Stay safe.
