So What DOES the Electric Company Do?

The Big Misconception is that 'they pump the electrons into the wires and they flow through the network like water through the pipes.' Professor "Veritassium" Muller "clears that up" (kind of), because 'the electrons don't go anywhere' ... it's more like--when a circuit is completed--'the energy flows through the particles in the wire (like sunlight flows through the particles in the air ... that's the example he uses to explain it). Maybe I got lost in 'what he's explaining,' or maybe 'what he's explaining' didn't answer the question I'm asking here. You can check his video to make sure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHIhgxav9LY I hear 'the electric companies burn coal or -run wind farms ... or maybe -have fields full of solar panels.' Where can I find out 'how they transfer that energy into the electric network?'

Go to the electric company and ask them. Tell them you are doing a survey as to which company is the best. They will spill all the beans

@mythociate The intricacy of the whole electricity thing is bigger than me.

@askme123 Maybe. But it's good to know which electric-company provides better (if you've got a choice between two or more companies).
