I don't really know how. I am also curious.
I saw online that there are shops who are selling jewelries for a lesser price, claiming that it is 18K, 21K and even 24K. I am tempted to buy a piece, for I am planning for a very long time to have one.
My order form were successfully sent and the seller said that it will arrive this week. I am excited and at the same time anxiousaa, what of it is fake? I hope I am wrong.
Do you know how to spot fake jewelries?

Buy from reputable sellers. They won't scam you.

@kixsh101 That's right; most sellers have marked up the prices so it can be hard.

It can be hard. There are those who use a special micro lense to look for stuff you wouldn't normally see.

Wow. It is very uncommon to find anything, especially jewelry made out of 24k gold. Gold is so very soft that it warps easily . I have a 14k ring, and it is slightly mis-shaped from my wearing it.
Sometimes there will be a high karat gold OVERLAY on top of cheap metal. Sometimes this is called electroplate. Anyway, the amount of real gold on the piece is so very little because in that process only the most thin layer is applied to the top of the other cheap metal.
How a jewelry tells if it's real gold. A jeweler or pawn shop dealer will have a small kit of acid . The make a tiny scratch in the jewelry in some spot where it isn't noticed and will apply this acid. Depending what color the scratch turns, the jeweler can tell not only if it's real gold, but also what karat.
Hope this helps - enjoy your jewelry I hope you get a good deal on the real thing

There needs to be a hallmark I think. There is on silver there must be on gold. Best thing to do is take it to an expert and let him have a look at it.
