Not the best title I know, but I haven't shared any of my husband's work stories in a while. But, then I didn't really have anything I felt was worth sharing, either. Until yesterday. As you know, my husband is looking to retire at the end of this year, when he turns 62. He's getting burnt out, but he doesn't want to blow it and possibly lose what he's worked so hard for. However, he's always telling me how much he hates his job. Well, turns out, yesterday someone pocketed 60 bucks. And, what is the manager doing about it-- nothing. Why? Because they can't. Several years ago, any form of security had been removed from the stores. Cameras, alarms, everything. It was in the cutting cost thing the geniouses decided on. So, here's what happened. An employee used a manager's code to enter a drop, but put the money down. Someone else, found that money, and pocketed it. Had the employee put the money in the safe, or the manager actually logged the drop and done what he was supposed to, the money would not have gone missing. Since there's no form of security, it can't be proved who took it. Now you wonder why I'm not a in a hurry to return to customer service.

No. Yet, someone's going to get away with taking 60 bucks.

That's terrible on all counts, taking the money and getting rid of the security cameras.

Pizza hut, as a company, can't last if they keep trying to cut costs like this.

@just4him I'm hhonestly surprised it's holding on. Closing stores, cutting security measures.... None of it's any good. I can't blame my husband for wanting to retire.

Yes. Because security is non-existant. Has been for two years.

Thankfully, no. This happened when he wasn't even there. The real kicker, the soon-to-be-assistant, was the one responsible that day.

I would think any company that deals with cash would at least have some security cameras. It ought to be counted in their business expense. Just my opinion. I hope your husband can retire at the end of the year.

Until two years ago, all stores had both security cameras and alarm systems. For whatever reason, both were removed. They also recently closed down a dine-in and relocated it to a smaller location. Making it a delco. When they closed granada, they (this being the higher-ups) just walked in and go 'this is your last day at this store... you're closing' Leaving people scrambling to find places to go.

No one lost their jobs when Ormand cllosed. However, that meant other stores now suddenly had an influx of employees. My husband was one of them. Things have sort of slowed and streightened out. And, now we're back to some stores not having enough. @Dena91

@kaylachan Poor way to run a company. I hope those folks were able to find another place to work at.

Oh my goodness. What a fiasco. I suppose nobody can be accused so that must be the end of it.

Not likely. But, money gone is money gone. Apparently this happened a few months ago for 80.
