My cable hookup just to watch two shows

Last night I had to rehook my tv cable back up so I could watch one of my channals. I've had to do this for two weeks now, ever since my son rerouted my coble when I moved my tv. I have a fireplace that I never use that is in the middle between my living room and kitchen and I wanted to place my tv there. It had always been by the wall on the left side of my living room and where my couch sits, you have to turn your head to watch it. I found a tv cabniet that was just the right size to sit on top of the hearth and was low enough where the top of the tv was a tad above the manal. We hooked it all up and I told my son he could just take the wire out of the spare bedroom since I no longer had a tv in there. I thought everything was fine until I no longer had the one channel that I always watch, at first I just thought maybe that channel was off the air, I even re-scanned my channels and that didn't help. Truthfully, I don't know how my ex-boyfriend had hooked it up, it had been that way for around 20 years by then. I wouldn't have wanted that channel so bad if it hadn't been for continuing stoy of 911 Lone star about all that was happening during the snow storm. I went a bought a cable cord and attached it to the cable wire that the phone company had installed years ago and then had to do the auto search for channels again. This time it was back on there. So until my son comes and fixes the problem, on Monday and Wensday, I just hook that cable wire to it long enough to watch my program and then unhook it. That's about the only time I ever watch that channel anyway, around two hours every week.

Why not just leave it hooked up instead of keep unhooking it? Can't you get the other channels with it hooked up?

I can get all the rest of the channels except that one with the cable that he took from the spare bedroom, it wasn't connected to the one that was in the living room where the tv used to be. So to pick this channel up I had to hook the wire to the one I used to use and where the tv is sitting now is across the room. So when I hook it up to watch this channel, it is laying across the floor. That's why I have to keep unhooking it,

Seems like a waste of time and money for just one show a couple times a week or whatever the case seems to be.

Any othe time I can watch all my other channels if I want to, that was the only channel not picking up. I have an adapter hooked up that has two places to plug in your in cable, so it only takes about a min. The only the that it cost was around 6 dollars for the cable wire and I can always use that for another tv, if I ever get one to go in my room.
