World Radio Day is Today!!! I like listening to radio everyday!!! / myLot

Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Today, 13th Feb is celebrated as "World Radio Day" , a day declared by the United Nations, 110 years ago. Personally speaking, I start my day everyday in morning by listening to radio while taking my walk and doing exercise. Radio was a very effective medium used especially in case of emergency announcement for natural disaster strike back in the day. Today, it serves so many purposes especially of entertainment. Many different types of radio channels have emerged now. It's a low cost medium but is listened widely by people across different age, gender, caste, income groups etc. Different types of programs takes place on radio locally and one gets to know information about local as well as World news. Nowadays, local channels organise contests on radio and people answering correctly gets vouchers or coupons for shopping or of cafe shops. I personally like to keep flipping the channels to listen to my favourite music. Music in itself is a great stress buster and keeps us happy, calm, cheerful in life. Thank you for sharing such a valuable information. I didn't know today is the World radio day. I used to listen to a lot of music on the radio when I was young but I don't now. I have heard my sister-in-law saying that she listens to the radio as her eyesight is growing weak.
