Home made paneer

The online shop canceled my order for paneer in the last moment. I just asked my milkman for some extra milk, cuddled it with lime juice and prepared the cottage cheese. All I had to do is to smash the cottage cheese with some arrowroot and salt and baked it in a greased dish for a few minutes in my Oxyfry oven. It turned out to be soft which I used to prepare 'Palak paneer'. Hope some of my friends here too might be using such innovative ideas for cooking with things available at home.

It's not difficult at all. Anyone can make it. Only you have to bake it at a low temperature.

Good for you...I have had paneer and love it. Maybe I should try to make some homemade too. Was your arrowroot in a powder form? I might have to order that online.

We get it in the market or online. It's in the powdered form. You can also used the white flour which is also called maida in India.

I did enjoy the dish but the oxyfry is too heavy for me now as I am old. My son has to take it out for me in the box. I have kept it only as an emergency.

The texture will be softer than the commercial ones but the taste is better if you bake it at low temperature.
