I had purchased some Indian jujube to offer the Godess on Saraswati Puja. I first made some Indian chutney for allu paratha with some tomatoes, mustard paste, ginger and green chilly but it turned out to be too acidic. I therefore made our famous Bengal pickle using jaggery, some spices and mustard oil. Bengalis like this pickle and I too like it. Have you ever tasted the Indian jujube sweet pickle?

I am from Rajsthan and we are also like pickle and it better to say that we are some more fond of pickles. In these days I am not eating too much because I have acidity problem. I don't know about jujube, What is this?

It's called the Ber. If you add ginger, fennel (sauf), and ajwain to the pickle, it would keep away acidity. Of course you don't take sweet pickle. Most people from Rajasthan like the sour pickle.

@anil02 The sourness becomes the cause of acidity.

I'm not sure. I do love Indian food, but try so many different dishes when we have it.

It's a pickle. In India this pickle is made in different ways. It's called 'Ber' in Hindi in India.
