Saw Cyrano Yesterday

If you like the play this wasn't actually a bad adaptation. The events stuck fairly close minus a few details. The one thing that stood out most was that -- surprise! -- the movie was a musical! I did not know this going into it, the trailers I had seen certainly didn't show it being a musical. I like musicals so this wasn't an issue for me, but for those who aren't a fan of songs popping up every few minutes, this one's not for you. Peter Dinklage, not surprisingly, was amazing as Cyrano. He's such a powerhouse onscreen, you forget his stature. He played the part beautifully. There was lots of humor, sadness, romance, and fighting. It came off like watching a Shakespeare adaptation. I liked it but I like that sort of thing. I was a theater nerd growing up, lol. If you like the original play, like Peter Dinklage, and don't mind musical numbers I'd say give this one a shot.

Not everyone likes musicals, lol. My dad would hate it. He hated The Greatest Showman of all things!
