Big Disclaimer: A topic with highly strong opinions, but my own opinion is purely personal. I had planned to bring out a short and fun discussion. Yet a few news articles on some news sites made me to change my mind. As the fighting rages on in Ukraine, many are fleeing Ukraine. Among them, there are reports of people from Asia - a lot of people from India, Pakistan etc, Africans and even Brazilians have been victims of racial comments, behaviour and even occasional assault. They have mainly faced these towards the Western Ukrainian border with Romania, Poland, Slovekia, Hungary etc. Some Indians were targeted also because of certain voting pattern on Anti-Russian proposals at UN. Some were discriminated due to their skin color. Some have had to do without proper warm place or even food and water. Today God must be crying to see Man discriminating against another man, killing and abusing. Racist tendencies even reflect in articles and news in print and electronic media. Just because someone has a different color, class, ethnic group or religion does it makes them liable to be troubled and discriminated? Opinions please?

I have seen a video of planes taking home Indian students from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus etc. It was just a joy to see them safe and reunited to their family.

@yoalldudes One Indian student lost his life in Kharkiv plus a few are probably still stuck in the eastern part of Ukraine. Still a lot have been rescued. That is the good part.

War or any such crisis just brings out the best and the worst of any human. It's sad to see such discrimination. And it's not justified. India did not support the war or caused it. It is free to have a diplomatic stand just like any other country. Isn't the world feeling for Ukranian civilian? The same way these targeted people are civilians from other nations. What a double standard It's my personal view and one might disagree. Was EU and UN pouring with the same amount of emotional concern when it was for Afghani people or for Syrians. No, it was not. So, the people who are in charge of Human Rights through these branded organization are also racists. Isn't it? They too go biased

@arunima25 A disappointing and visible thing is statements by some in Western Media who talk as if "A first world" country like Ukraine too is under such trouble. As if to convey that the so called 3rd world countries are destined for strife, conflicts and wars!

@arunima25 Or lunatics control the reign of countries and let genuine people out of the Governance. Plus I have seen that with all its flaws, the more democratic nations are less likely to start such senseless conflicts.

No of course it does not go away. Everyone is aware of different cultures and appearance always. And always will be.

@RebeccasFarm The awareness can peacefully coexist with harmony. However racist thinking is unacceptable. It is another thing that it is everywhere in some or the other form.

I have heard about it and it is unbelievable. We are all humans on God's earth, why discriminate, especially at a time like this?
