Day 265
Jeremiah 33:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 “Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to establish it (the LORD is His name):
3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’” (NKJV)
Do you do everything someone tells you? Instead, don’t you decide what you will and won’t do, even when someone in authority tells you, you must? Doesn’t the rebellious side of you rise and you don’t do what you were asked?
Amid God’s exhortation to His people, God told Jeremiah to call on Him and He would answer him with mighty things he didn’t know.
Don’t you look for new things to attract your attention? Don’t you run after the unexpected? You all long for the thrill of adventure, hoping you will find it.
As Christians, God calls to you every day to pray to Him and ask Him things only He can show you. He wants to delight your senses with Himself. What is more thrilling than an answer to prayer? What makes your heart pound faster than seeing a new life born? What if that new life was your child accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord? Or a friend, neighbor, or people you don’t know all getting together in one place to hear a message of hope, and accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord?
Do you long for a spirit of adventure when you read God’s Word, or do you look at God’s Word as just a book and nothing to get excited about?
It’s time to feel the thrill of excitement once again. Open God’s Word and read about Creation, Parting the Red Sea and the people walking on dry land, Daniel in the Lion's Den, the Three Men in the Fiery Furnace, Elijah going to heaven in a whirlwind, Moses receiving the Ten Commandments from the finger of God, the Birth of Jesus, His Death and Resurrection, Paul’s journey of faith. As you read these accounts and many more, you will feel the thrill and excitement waiting for you as God’s child. You will hear Him call you by name as He did Samuel. He will reach down and pull you out of the water as He did Peter when he started to sink. He will bring you to new levels of faith you didn’t expect could happen.
What are you waiting for? Let the adventure of your life begin. Call on God and let Him show you great and mighty things you do not know.
Let’s pray: Father, I long for the adventure only You can give me. Help me read Your Word with an open mind for what You will reveal to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I'm glad you started. The longest I've taken to read it with an in-depth study was four years. Have a blessed day.
