Day 271 Ezekiel 8:13 And He said to me, “Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.” 14 So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD’S house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz. 15 Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.” 16 So He brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house; and there, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east. 17 And He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed, they put the branch to their nose. 18 “Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.” We live in a time when the slogan is ‘Just do it’. People believe they can do whatever they want and no one will say or do anything to stop them. God showed Ezekiel a vision of the depravity to which His people had fallen. They worshiped other gods and turned their backs on Him. He told Ezekiel He would not hear their prayers when they called to Him. Who do you pray to when things go bad for you or your loved ones? Who do you turn to for help? God told Ezekiel He would not hear their prayers when they called to Him. But, you say, God hears all our prayers. God told Ezekiel He would not hear the prayers of people who worshiped other gods and then turned to Him for help. As Christians, you live in a time when everything evil is tolerated. You have bought into the toleration and believe it’s okay because God understands you are His child. God did not hear the prayers of His children when they worshiped other gods, then called on Him for help. What makes you think He will hear you when you partake in the pleasures of tolerance? Satan has so misled you, that you don’t know who speaks. You go ahead with your plans unaware that God isn’t in your plans. Where is your worship? Where do you spend your time—work, hobbies, pleasure, family, friends? Whatever you place in the first position of your life is your god. When you get in trouble with what you placed in the first place, God will not hear you when you pray. God will only hear you when you topple all your gods into the dust and set Him as first in your life. Examine your life. Be honest about where your loyalties lie. Then put your priorities in their proper place. When God is first, He will hear you and help you. Not before. Don’t turn your back on Him. Instead, turn your face to Him. Let’s pray: Father, many times, my priorities got out of order and I found my life in chaos. Help me get my priorities right with You in the first place so You will hear me when I pray. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 12 March 2022 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.

Amwn once we have faith and we pray there should never be a moment when we no longer do so,
