Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Today, 18th March is celebrated all over India as a "Holi Festival".
Holi ka Dahan i.e a Indian version of bonfire but with traditions. As holi is burnt in late evening and prayers are conducted by rotating around it. People fast on this day and break fast late evening after the prayers.
The other day it's called Dhuleti wherein people play with colours with their families, friends and relatives. It's a fun time.
On holi, there are yummy delicacies being enjoyed by people. One is people make and drink Thandai. It's a milk based drink made by adding Kesar i.e. Saffron, Dryfruits and Saunf powder. Saunf is a mouth freshner had by Indian people after their meals.
There is lot of heat on Holi festival in India so to calm your body and hydrate it. It acts as a coolant too. It's a very refreshing and yummy drink.
Another thing eaten by people are Gujiyas. It's a sweet traditionally prepared mostly in Bengal State in India.
It's outer layer is crispy with inside fillling of shredded coconut, sugar and some almonds plus raisins. It tastes yummy too.
We didn't have gujiya today, but we did enjoy drinking Thandai. Hope you find this information interesting.
Happy Holi to all my dear mylotters here. May all our lives are filled with happiness and peace always! Have a good day! Take care!!!
