why do most people scream at most bugs?

It may not be the bug itself. It may be the 'being startled' that makes people scream. Society has made it the thing to do?

it's not the bug that scares me it's the unexpected approach of anything. i scream when i'm startled by human beings i'm not expecting to come around a corner.

Because bugs are disgusting and try to crawl all over you and in or on your food. What are bugs good for anyway? They seem to be in the way more than they serve a purpose.
