Hello again, myLot! 1:19 p.m. by my computer clock, and I've been back about ten minutes. I took the bus back to the street that led to the old neighborhood. I stopped and talked to one lady, who informed me that the husband of the lady who lived next door to me passed away. He was 92 and hadn't been doing well for quite some time. I went over to see the lady whose husband had passed away, and the first lady followed me over and did most of the talking. I went to my house and yanked up a few Irises and Daffodils to bring home. Unfortunately the Morning glories weren't blooming. Maybe I'll be able to get some seeds from them another time. One of the neighbors had told me to go and look at what my brother did in the backyard, so I did. Aside from things he removed that I'd already seen, he replaced the loose rock path with a concrete path that leads right to the patio (where the deck used to be) --see photo. I visited my other next-door neighbor and his dog, and we chatted a bit. Went around the corner to see another old neighbor, but she wasn't home. She has one of those "ring" doorbells, so she talked me a bit through it. She said she'd be home in about 15 minutes, and I sat on her porch and read a bit, but finally I left. Visited my old boss on the next street, but one of her neighbors came by with her new baby and the conversation went to her. I walked home, and stopped at my neighbor's apartment in the next building, as she gave me the impression that she'd like one of the Iris bulbs, but she said no, she had a brown thumb. She fed me lunch, which came after offering me something cold to drink after walking all the way I did in the heat. When her lunch break ended, I came home and said hello to Angel, who's comfortable on her bed. Now I'm saying hello to you folks, and I should get a chore or two done around here. Hope your morning/afternoon/evening/etc. has gone well so far in your part of myLot land! (Whoa--I just realized looking at the photo that the back fence has finally been replaced,too!)
