Women's Reproductive rights

This discussion may be a little bit late but I just want to share my contribution to uplift the status of women as well as empowering them on their reproductive rights and health. For 17 years I have worked as a Family Planning Dept. manager in a Non-Government Organization supported by USAID and UNFPA. We provided family planning services to women who want to space or limit their pregnancy for free. Of course, we observe the principle of informed choice. We also conduct family planning education of mothers and fathers to guide them in their decision to use a family planning method. Through family planning, maternal death was reduced as well as infant mortality. Abortion also was prevented because, women who do not want to get pregnant, use contraceptives. More women are employed because they can plan and space their pregnancies. These are just some of the benefits women and their families enjoy from practicing family planning. What are your thoughts on this?

If women would go back to the old ways of thinking before reproducing, there may be less need for all this control.

I'm glad both mothers and fathers were being educated on family planning. In which country was this? Is it still ongoing?

Hello, this is in the Philippines, and although our funding from USAID and UNFPA was stopped due to the pandemic, we have collaborated with the Commission on Population, National Office for the continued provision of family planning services. Couples who want to avail themselves of the services for free go to the POPCOM clinic. Besides, this is a government program. Private organizations like us only support them.
