Or should we call it Saturday morning?
Okay, I'll tell you.
I got back to Austin about 5 p.m. from my little trip to Kerrville to see my friend on her birthday.
I then proceed to do those things ya gotta do to catch up. I deleted emails, I read emails, I checked MyLot, I looked to see what was new on YouTube... you know...
Anyway, even though I was really tired, trip to Kerrville was... well... I'll try to talk about that later. I failed to get to bed before midnight.
So, I'm finally in bed and I'm sound asleep.
My sound asleep is lighter than some people's, so I do try to keep the noise level down around the house, part of why we bring the mutts in at night, so they aren't outside barking.
Suddenly Boe started barking.
"Shut up Boe," I try to yell.
Momentary pause, then more barking.
"Boe! Shut up!" I'm more awake.
More barking. What the he!!? I wonder.
Then I hear the roommate come out of her room. [Oh, did I tell you I moved into my wife's room?] Anyway, I hear her talking to someone at the front door.
"No, I didn't call. Let me check with my roommate." I heard her say.
"Are you all right?" she asked. "You didn't call 911?"
"No," I reply.
She goes back to the door. "No, she didn't call either," she said.
She shuts the door.
"What was that about?" I ask as she comes out of the front room.
"The police, someone woman called from a cell and the call was dropped, but they knew it was in this area. Tell you more in the morning."
And, because I was so tired, I went right back to sleep.
Apparently they managed to figure out she had called from our area, either the neighborhood or the apartments behind the house.
And this, boys and girls, is why you need to keep a land line in your house...

So you had a rude awakening. It could've been a lot worse.

@kaylachan well, that's why he's in the house at night, at least that way he's only barking if someone is knocking... I guess if someone tried to get in, but...

yes if we could afford it. It would sure be nice.
So you have moved on and found another wife? That's great. You now have someone to comfort you.

No, in 2019 Viv, my wife, bought a $1000 adjustable bed, well, between the adjustable bed and the new mattress. I also have started using her computer because I haven't been able to listen to my YouTube videos because the roommate working in the same room with my (old) computer. Or, as I told my guy friend, my old computer was $200 compared to my wife's $1000 one. Granted my old one was fixed more recently... because it is cheap.
