Chilly nearly gave me a heart attack last night.

Last night, Chilly got a case of the zoomies. I had been out in the garage putting laundry in the basket for washing, when he darted out. He had to check out the garage, having not really had an interest in it before, but it's scarry when the van is in it. He could easily get under it, which he did. Thankfully he didn't feel the need to climb in the engine. I managed to get him to come to me with treats, and carry him, protesting, back into the bedroom. He cried to get out a little, but after a while gave up. Later, when I went to use the bathroom, he was walking around purring, and I could hear him as I walked into the room. Apparently, he won't be trying to pull that again.

The good thing was that it was at night and George didn't need to go anywhere. He was already in bed, and treats worked to get Chilly to where I could pick him up.

@RebeccasFarm I knew he would. I just chose to speed up the process.

My cats used to be the same way. However, you know what can happen if you seal off a room. They might take a sudden interest in it.

That's okay---people do dumb things to putting their lives in danger!! Was going to say like getting into wars but that is too obvious!

A little bit. Chilly is a cat. He doesn't always know his decisions are dumb.

I know what you mean being scared that your cat would enter your van for a place to rest. I would be scared as well if any of my cats would enter the engine of the family auto.

It's been rather hot lately, so I wasn't as concerned as I would've been if it were another twenty degreees cooler. However, you don't want an animal getting curious about the underside of anything.

@kaylachan No since my cat Burt went underneath our auto recently in warm weather but he did find his way out of danger fast.

It would be dangerous if he climbed into the engine. Good that you could get him back in.

Glad Chilly is okay. Hope he won’t do that again
