I am now working part time and so I do have a bit of spare time ( not really as I keep myself pretty busy )….I thought that I would sign up as a cat sitter.....just in my local area...I have had an enquiry and have to follow that up but as yet I have not really started. I am really looking forward to it though. Because of working and our busy lifestyle we decided that we would not have pets of our own until we finished work.....so I think this cat sitting will be a good replacement until then. I shall be playing with, feeding and generally taking care of cats in their own homes when their owners are out at work or on holiday.

That sounds like a wonderful idea.

I did pet sitting in my park for several years. All my customers eventually moved somewhere else but it was fun. I would feed and water the animal, walk dogs, clean cat boxes, and keep the pets company while I watched cable TV. I did not have it at home. They paid me so it was a win for me.

Sounds like something I would enjoy doing as well. I like cats, rabbits, small animals generally. Looking forward to read your cat-sitting stories on mylot :)

Too bad you are so far away... I have 7 of the brats... well, you'd only get to play with 6, maybe 5, not sure Opal wouldn't take any liberties with her as in insult and proceed to growl. She's not called "the little grey ball of anger" for nothing...

That sounds like an interesting job.

I thought of having a bird as a pet, but I guess caging a bird feels like a cruel act since birds are meant to fly high and I'll prolly open the cage and set it free anyway. But cats on the other hand..
