Hanover County officials awarded Jordynne Etheridge, 6, with a 911 Lifesaver Award on April 13 at their headquarters after Jordynne called 911 to inform them that her mother Deja who is disabled who served in the United States military had passed out on the floor of her home on March 14.
Jordynne who was trained by her mom what to do in case of any family emergency happened to call 911 and seek help as soon as possible.
Jordynne did make the call to 911 to inform the operator that her home needed medical help as soon as possible since she felt ill the morning when she passed out on the floor.
Thanks to Jordynne waiting being able to give out the directions where her mom was staying and waiting with the assistance of Deja's best friend to greet the medical team to take care of her mother who needed help from her illness.
Deja was taken to a local hospital where she recovered from her health scare thanks to her teaching her child what to do in case of a medical emergency.
In this case 911 was used to save a life instead of being a joke on officials over a petty issue like bad service at a fast food restaurant or seeing a plastic skeleton on a road.
Deja has some excellent parenting skills that were useful to save her life.

Thats a good mom and smart child. When I was 11 yrs. we didn't have 911 back then but I called my uncle when mom took too many pills and he took her to emergency room.

That is good to know that your relatives did train you what to do in case of an emergency.

I'm glad Jordynne remembered what she had been taught.

I agree with you since children are learning the basics of dealing with emergencies at a young age.
